RajuPatel Posted August 6, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) When i take a photograph and when i review the same in the EVF (or the back screen) the display (on both) takes a strong magenta hue. Why would this happen? It does not happen for all images. this occurrence is erratic. CAN some shed some light on this please. I am running the latest firmware. Advertisement Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Hi RajuPatel, Take a look here review screen magenta hue. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted August 6, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2014 These screens can break down, usually to magenta. All camera makers procure them from large manufacturers in China, they are a mass product. Mine produced magenta rings once. Leica replaced it on a fast turnaround - within the week. In your case it looks like an internal component failure, though. Send it in. kyc Posted August 6, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2014 Not really related, but my display showed a pinkish color for part of the red in my son's Ferrari. It was a little worrisome until I got home a few days later and the actual images were the proper Ferrari red. But, since my son lives over a thousand miles away, I actually did not know if I was successful until I got back to my computer. I guess I need to get a MacBook Air or maybe have a little more faith in my camera! Greg
jaques Posted August 7, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 7, 2014 I think you are jumping the gun on this one Jaap: this sounds like an erratic problem that is not related to the screen itself but a software glitch or similar. Both M240's I have owned have exhibited this issue from time to time. To the OP: does this magenta hue only appear when you zoom into an image and disappear when you zoom back out? If so many users have reported this issue- it is a known fault.

Mine has this issue sometimes - the review looks fine, but as you zoom in it looks like flare, magenta and low contrast on the screen

I cannot recall regular complaints about this and my camera has certainly never done it.. EVF and LV both. As I said, that must be something in the camera hardware, not the screen itself. My post could have been more clear, I admit.

Not sure what's the case with the camera jpegs as I don't use them. Capture one will give you better reds or you will have to play with the HSL in Lightroom to correct this.
