Austin, TX, has spent $25 million on a 1.4 mile long concrete "boardwalk" in Lady Bird Lake to finally eliminate a gap in the 10-mile hike-and-bike trail loop. It was cheaper than buying up private property, I guess. The boardwalk opened this week. At intervals along the railing are metal replicas of Western-style belts with Austin-related song titles or lyrics. The one shown is, "Hey, Baby, Que Paso?" Three shots with the Lumix LF-1:

Nice series. I have not been down to see it yet. If we had waited a couple more years to build it I bet we could have spent twice as much. That is usually the way we do things in Austin. :confused:

A lovely set. Are you with the woman inthe gray top and white baseball cap?

 

While in USAF OTS in San Antonio we'd enjoy driving up to Austin mainly to have Aggie ROTC cadets salute us.

Thanks for the comments. Nope. She was ahead of us and stayed ahead - I was stopping to take photos.
