How clean the pressure plate?

Hello everyone

The pressure plate on my TTL has become dirty - there's a bit of sticky substance on one corner. It could be from masking tape which is what I use on my film rolls for descriptions of equipment used and motifs.

What's a good way to remove this? It's a metal pressure plate (of course).

best and many TIA

Philip

If it’s sticky tape, a small amount of acetone (nail varnish remover) will get it off. If you don’t fancy that, then isopropyl alcohol will do as well. That’s what we medics do to remove plaster marks on people’s skin from wound dressings.

I'm with Charlie on the alcohol thing. These plates, whilst smooth, are designed to cope with a fair amount of use, so a bit of solvent will do them no harm at all.
