AlanJW Posted May 30, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) We may as well start talking about firmware changes we might like. I would like to see the video button made programmable. I would change it to focus assist, which would be much more useful to me than taking movies. I've already had one accidental video. digitalfx Posted May 30, 2014 Share #3 Posted May 30, 2014 -ad hoc connection -reduce delay in switching to EVF
HPS3000 Posted May 30, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 30, 2014 Very good ideas so far - especially the delay reduction in switching to the EVF. Additional self-timer setting - permanent 2 sec. delay without the need to activate it every time. Control the main settings from the remote App, like exposure or aperture. jaapv Posted May 30, 2014 Share #6 Posted May 30, 2014 I think I’ll have to use the camera and familiarize myself with it for at least a few weeks before being able to make a sensible suggestion….
spylaw4 Posted May 30, 2014 Share #7 Posted May 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would agree with the possible reduction of the delay in switching from LCD to EVF. Ability to rename Use Profiles would be very useful - I have already posted about this. I'm sure I have some other items but without the camera to hand .......! vikasmg Posted May 31, 2014 Share #8 Posted May 31, 2014 Ability to turn off auto review. It really is incredible that you can't turn this of.
digitalfx Posted June 4, 2014 Share #9 Posted June 4, 2014 Add options for Focus assist knob when using M lenses. Currently the first knob defaults as focus assist selector, but it only works in one direction (left) and must be turned twice. It also only allows one magnification with knob, you must use touch screen to change zoom level. I don't really understand the rational for this but I find it counter intuitive. Ideally I would like to enable Focus Assist with a single turn either direction, or at the least right instead of left. Also it would be nice if the knob would cycle thru 1X, 3X and 6x rather than being a dead end selector.

alexander Posted June 4, 2014 Share #11 Posted June 4, 2014 the light metering should be adjusted. Now I need to set minus 1/3 or 2/3 to get correct metering in my RAW files. Noise reduction is in jpg far to high.... WIFI should allow a self timer setting of 2 sec...
jaapv Posted June 4, 2014 Share #12 Posted June 4, 2014 Interesting. How did you measure the exposure? 18% grey card comparison?
luigi bertolotti Posted June 4, 2014 Share #13 Posted June 4, 2014 the light metering should be adjusted. Now I need to set minus 1/3 or 2/3 to get correct metering in my RAW files.Noise reduction is in jpg far to high.... WIFI should allow a self timer setting of 2 sec... I have this feeling too... but not definitely... I have set -1/3 for a certain session of takings, and in some occasion (with 50 & 75 lenses, for what is worth) i later found that it would have been better to stay at nominal value... in general, I do feel that metering with M240 is more critical than (my only comparision) with M8, but, at the same time, I have also found that playing A LITTLE with exposure adjusting in Lightroom is easy, non destructive, and brings to the results one would expect... so, not sure if Leica really must operate at firmware level around this tipic. alexander Posted June 4, 2014 Share #14 Posted June 4, 2014 WIFI in WIFI mode the T let you not shot in RAW modus... it just takes jbg... I would like to have RAW modus in wifi modus as well....

It's the same with the X-Vario ...... I normally have -1/3 set as a default.....
thighslapper Posted June 4, 2014 Share #16 Posted June 4, 2014 I'm not sure I'm happy about the exposure defaulting to 1/2f in the auto settings and then pushing up the ISO, irrespective of the slowest shutter setting in the auto ISO menu ...... (unless I have set this all wrong ) I know what I can hand-hold safely..... and would prefer the camera to use the slowest speed I set and then auto adjust ISO to suit ....... XV, M etc. all do it that way...... and give you the chioce .... I can understand the logic behind it ..... you can de-noise high ISO but you can't process out camera shake .... but I still prefer the lowest ISO possible ...... barjohn Posted June 4, 2014 Share #17 Posted June 4, 2014 Auto ISO gives you the choice to set a slowest (maximum exposure) shutter speed as well as maximum ISO AND an auto slowest shutter speed within the auto ISO setting so you have the best of all worlds! The auto shutter speed selection is the ½ x FL. However you can set it to a fixed value too.
alexander Posted June 4, 2014 Share #18 Posted June 4, 2014 It's the same with the X-Vario ...... I normally have -1/3 set as a default..... I have to say, light metering is on Xvario better....
barjohn Posted June 4, 2014 Share #19 Posted June 4, 2014 I don't believe the problem is with light metering as JPGs are properly exposed. Only the DNGs appear to be over exposed by 2/3rds stop. I believe it is in the instructions contained in the files to LR as to how to present the image that needs to be fixed. If both the JPGs and the DNGs were overexposed by the same amount you could blame the metering but the JPG is created from the DNG in the camera whereas the DNG image is created in LR and presented as over exposed.
