Jeff S Posted June 7, 2014 Share #21 Posted June 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks. So the lens has the same optics, but you don't need to turn it upside down to get macro, if you use the new adaptor? I haven't seen or tried the new version, but these pics show the lens coupled with the adapter using the same scale as for non-macro. Jeff

flyalf Posted June 7, 2014 Share #22 Posted June 7, 2014 Thanks for sharing! Anyone knowing any of this? 1. Is it correct to assume that is no rangefinder coupling, so when using adapter on collapsed 90mm I will have to use LV for focus? 2. Will the new adapter work on my previous model of 90mm Macro when lens is collapsed (for focus to infinity, not only for macro)? 3. What diefferences are there between old and new 90mm Macro. Thanks! erudolph Posted June 8, 2014 Share #24 Posted June 8, 2014 There is good information on the Popflash website about the differences between the new and old lens, etc. This is a quote from there "The new Macro-Elmar M can be used retracted to provide focusing to infinity without having to detach the Macro-Adapter M. This only works with the new Macro-Adapter-M."

tobey bilek Posted June 12, 2014 Share #26 Posted June 12, 2014 The best micro lens I ever used is the 100 2.8 APO Elmarit R. Mine now has a Nikon mount and Nikon to Leica M adapters are easy had. Ditto for 60 mm 2.8 In addition I have a full set of viso lenses 65/560, bellows, tubes etc. Use with viso or live view. Of course the Nikon micros will work also if I can find a way to set the diaphragm.

mirekti Posted July 13, 2016 Share #28 Posted July 13, 2016 I got some oufro from ebay and use it with 75mm APO, it's quick and dirty approach. I also have some diopters to play with, but what I don't like in both cases is very narrow DoF. I would like to see something like this in M mount, these photos are very appealing to me http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2015/11/06/laowa-15mm-f4-wide-angled-11-macro-lens-on-the-sony-a7rii-by-dierk-topp/
mirekti Posted July 13, 2016 Share #29 Posted July 13, 2016 ...this is the closest I can get with 24mm Elmar and OUFRO. The distance to subject was about 3cm and height from bottom of the mouth to top of the head is some 1.5-2cm.I wish I could do something similar with larger subjects (up to size of a human head) and even wider lens (with OUFRO this looks more like 35mm).
