mikeleng Posted May 13, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 13, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Recent trip to the Fjords in Norway Big Stopper from Lee Filters on the M9P Thought it might be a clumsy combination, but it worked quite well . lucerne Posted May 13, 2014 Share #3 Posted May 13, 2014 If this is what the scene is really like, then I feel sorry for the locals: Big Stopper effect has worked well though.
250swb Posted May 14, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 14, 2014 That's the problem with 'Big Stoppers', you press the shutter button and before it's finished exposing a bloody boat floats into the picture. Steve

sblutter Posted May 14, 2014 Share #6 Posted May 14, 2014 In both shots, I'd pump up the mid-tones. They're rather dull - on my screen... I'd also bring the brightest areas of the water down a pinch in the 2nd one. You've got 2 good shots that could be great!
CrisRose Posted May 14, 2014 Share #7 Posted May 14, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looks great, I'm looking to pick up an RF75 holder and a big stopper too, for similar work.
M9reno Posted May 14, 2014 Share #8 Posted May 14, 2014 What's the lens?
250swb Posted May 14, 2014 Share #9 Posted May 14, 2014 Yes, you've lost the mid tone micro contrast, the Clarity slider in ACR, or Structure in Viveza. I find the same thing with strong ND filters, they flatten the image in the mid tones and can affect the colour balance. Steve

IWC Doppel Posted May 15, 2014 Share #11 Posted May 15, 2014 Interesting, I've never tried long exposure stuff, where the desire is to capture a different perspective on the real world. What was the exposure and aperture on the shot ? I have 46mm and 60mm 3 stop ND filters which covers most of the lenses I use in bright conditions and want a shorter DOF, maybe adding a 10 stop and a cheap tripod to my kit would be an adventure !?
