Trouble choosing halfcase-color (Arte di Mano)

Hi Leica forum!

I know there are already many posts discussing halfcases. I am going to order an Arte di Mano case for my black M240, and I am having a real hard time deciding which color to choose.

I love rally volpe, but I think i might look best on a silver chrome M. Im also considering minerva black, either with white or black stitching. Red is not my thing, neither the "bridle"-finishes.

Does anyone have any thoughts, or even better, pictures, to share in the matter? I've seen the official pictures on eBay.

Thanks in advance!

I thought the Arte Di Mano was expensive until I went out finding a case for my M240 today. At Mapcamera Shinjuku, I came across another brand which I've noticed that hasn't been mentioned here in the 240 forums anyway - Deff & Kimoto. They had a model called Noble for the M240. It comes in red & brown & it felt really good in the hands. The rear window cutout was also very precise & accurate but sadly not Thumbs Up friendly, so I settled for the Leica Protector 1/2 Case.

Black with black stitching & internal felt, and matching strap (with black underside).

Sejun will match colours and stitching for you.

I have this for my Silver M240 and also my Monochrom - the case is such a good fit on the Monochrom it's barely noticeable.

Whichever you get these are excellent half-cases.

With the Deff & Kimoto,... one would blend in nicely in Harajuku

Thanks for the answers! Does anyone have a picture of their black m with a rally volpe case? Is that a good combo?

Enclosed. I've had my M, and case, for a couple of months now and I'm very satisfied. Black dot from DAG.

I had the M-Case. Same color as dugby. It is perfect. I ordered it without the grip and without the preparation for the tripod-mount.

The strap (ordered separatly) in the same color is beautifull too, but for me (1,88m) a little bit to short.

Aret di Mano Rally Volpe is identical to Luigi's 'natural aged brown' .... and has a classical look that suits almost any camera .... but is best on the silver chrome. I think black looks best in .......err ..... black .......

I have my Arte di Mano case now for a bit more than a month and I am very happy with it. I had a Luigi case for my M9 before, but the fit was just... Meh... It just didn't fit very well. The Arte di Mano case is a different class, the craftsmanship is excellent, the fit is perfect.

I chose for the Rally Volpe color and I like it.

A general case comment from a practical point of view. Yeah, I know, practicality in a "case" thread?

If you have, as do I, the 35 mm Summaron with goggles, and / or the 135 mm Tele Elmarit, consider whether or not you can get these lenses on and off the camera without taking the case off.

I know for a fact that the M 240 Luigi Premium case (small "bump") permits this, although it is a struggle with his, again, Premium case on my M 3.

If any case fits too closely to the release button, or there is too big a "bump" on the front, you will be taking the case off to deal with these old but lovely lenses.

Arte Di Mano

I went for the Red it seemed to compliment the chrome version although it was a tough call between this and the old Rally volpe

It's all taste and there's no right answer, but I figure the black M is a single color and the silver M is two-toned (silver and black). So a non-black case on the black version becomes two-toned, which is nice. A non-black case on the silver version, however, becomes three-toned, which, to my eyes, over-complicates the simplicity of the design. So I don't mind non-black cases on a black M but prefer black cases on a silver M. My black M9 and my silver M 240 both have black Luigi cases with metallic silver stitching and it looks great on both.
