You might get a reasonable older 50 summicron for your £600 budget. An alternative might be the Minolta 40/2 and 90/4 Rokkor M, made for the CLE. Convince your wife that it's an investment 3. Sell some of your other unused equipment (I bet you have a few hundred pounds of something laying around ?) and add a little to the 'budget' When the funding is sorted I'd definitely stick with one 50 and if you can live with f2.8 I'd have the Leica 50 Elmar-M, if not then save a little more for an early Summicron 50 I personally would stick with Leica as they are easily sold on when you are in a position to perhaps want a different lens Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The v1 Summilux (I used to have one) definitely has some character, but I wouldn't say it's an all-rounder. If anything, it's rather flare-prone.
