Michael, I stand corrected and yes you may be somewhat ostentatious but correct you are. LOL
allamande Posted March 19, 2014 Share #5 Posted March 19, 2014 Any sign of spring is to be celebrated but these birds are special. We have a few around our garden now, I hear them "sing" their song and I feel assured that I am in the right place. Ece

fotografr Posted March 19, 2014 Share #8 Posted March 19, 2014 Beautiful golden light. Doves are the only bird I know of that change color with the kind of light. These two look golden now, but on an overcast day they will be gray (unless these are different than our Doves). We have several Doves that spend the entire winter here. There's a heated bird bath/fountain in our back garden and I frequently see doves sitting around it to keep warm during frigid weather. It seems to work for them because they are there right now. Iduna Posted March 19, 2014 Share #9 Posted March 19, 2014 Bill, delightful picture with a gorgeous light. Brent's comment on thos plumage colos is interesting. I hope they'll bring spring to your place soon.
Northwest Wanderer Posted March 19, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted March 19, 2014 Thank you Brent & Iduna. I enjoy seeing the doves. Next I'm waiting for the bluebirds and swallows. Once they arrive it will truly be spring.
platypus Posted March 19, 2014 Share #11 Posted March 19, 2014 Bill, lovely birds (by any name) and a delightful shot. Shall I send you some swallows? We have plenty and they insist on nesting in the garage, necessitating more frequent car washing than is actually convenient.
Northwest Wanderer Posted March 20, 2014 Author Share #12 Posted March 20, 2014 Thank you Dee, I see you know all about swallows and their antics. They are messy but watching their flight is a thrill to see. They dive-bomb the horses for hair to build their mud nests. Yup, they do make for extra car washings and hosing the mess off the house.
