I am very curious about this camera. Could well be a good AF back-up to the M instead of an X camera with the bonus of being able to retain existing investment in M lenses. I'm just back from Berlin, shame I missed this launch by a couple of weeks. Viel Spaß!

looks like they made their version of the sony, for all those who have filled the digital forum ……. not really bad and i like the internal 16gb of memory and the ability to use m lenses ….. as long as i have my film leicas is this such a bad quick color alternative as opposed to keeping the m9? proof is in the execution, so we will see soon

I will say, I started wondering after I saw it “would this be a good camera for my wife?” I don’t know if it would be, but maybe the target audience is people who want a good camera, but really don’t want to deal with the size of an SLR.

With the Diopter adjustment at the side, I wonder (and hope) that the EVF is a re-bodied Olympus/Epson VF-4 and the M240 will be updated to use it. Cross fingers. My personal view is that, if this is APS-C-ish, as seems to be the case, Leica will have made an economic mistake not going for MFT. They would maybe sell a few less (very few less) cameras but would sell a whole lot of lenses to Olympus and Panasonic camera users.

Isn't it widely acknowledged that SLR sales are in serious decline because very few people like lugging them around, and for most people the convenience and usability of a small camera vastly outweighs the often marginal (and sometimes absent) performance advantages of a much larger camera. And isn't that a formula instantly recognisable to most Leica M users?

The T's problem may be its very high price compared to its competitors, which is why so much will be made of its design features, as a way to try to distinguish it from Sony, Olympus etc. Sad, then, that so many people have already noticed how like a Samsung or NEX it looks, superficially at least.

Let's hope that the real distinguishing feature will be the quality of its results.

I've been exceptionally and at times bitterly critical of Leica in the past but this gets nothing but high praise from me so far.

I think the design is a work of genius. I don't feel there is any other camera in this category that is as special, unique and well thought, designed and manufactured as this. It's a complete package of perfection it seems and It already looks like a mature system too, so it's obvious they have been working on this a very long time and getting all the elements distilled and refined to perfection. I think it's really exciting to see this sort of innovation and painstaking attention to detail and a great measure of the company and everything I think Leica should be.
