too old to care Posted February 15, 2014 Share #42 Posted February 15, 2014 Your images look better than the results I am getting with the Plustek doing color. I guess I need to play with it more. That said, I actually like the first image posted better. May be my monitor, but it looks more natural. Wayne
250swb Posted February 16, 2014 Share #43 Posted February 16, 2014 I'm not expecting my Plustek to produce great images.. You seem to have a downer on Plustek. Whatever route you use to get a scan your Plustek should be able to produce exhibition prints. Just because you haven't found a suitable workflow doesn't mean it is the scanner at fault..... bideford Posted March 2, 2014 Author Share #45 Posted March 2, 2014 Quick update.... M has returned from Solms (via Wetzler). It brings with it a little trepidation. Normally the return of my camera from Leica would be significant but this is not the case this time. I have to confess that I am enjoying the M6 too much. Yes digital is instant. And yes, the ISO capabilities (and every other improvement on the M8.2/M9) are excellent. But I am liking the film experience more. Pushing film gives a new dimension to shooting in low light (compared to my old M8.2). Perhaps this is all about grain? Not to be confused with digital noise (or the "smoothness" of M images). Silver Efex is good but not that good. It will be interesting to see where this goes. James
madNbad Posted March 2, 2014 Share #46 Posted March 2, 2014 If you're enjoying the M2 and don't mind scanning then stick with it. There are going to be occasions when having a digital M is an advantage. Don't toss it to the side just yet.
