stuny Posted December 30, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) A 458 Speciale. They also had an F12 in matte silver (visible in the second shot). I really don’t like the new mini-trend to have matte finished cars, but at least in silver it sort of worked, strongly suggesting unpainted aluminum with oxidation. Shot through the window very early Thursday morning. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! pauledell Posted December 30, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 30, 2013 Stuart, A fine pair of shots. I would leave the stripes on. Paul

stuny Posted December 31, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted December 31, 2013 James & Paul - Thank you. Before racing stripes became popular on road cars, giving an air of sportiness and/or racing, the purpose of stripes was to let the pit crews know which car was approaching before they could see and read the numbers. The Speciale is a lighter, more powerful 458, and will probably be used in series racing.

jdlaing Posted January 2, 2014 Share #8 Posted January 2, 2014 Beautiful shots. Just think.....in Manhattan.....you could roar around the corner and do 3/4 of a mile per hour with the rest of the pack.

earleygallery Posted January 2, 2014 Share #10 Posted January 2, 2014 Not sure if I like that Ferrari or not. Hmmmm. It's a little amusing that it has the same kind of look as a 17yo's first car, usually a small hatchback which is then fitted with racer stripes and bling wheels, to give it street cred. I guess when you become rich and have money to spare it's nice to hark back to those youthful days, and buy a similar looking Ferrari! There's a trend for rich Arabs to bring their supercars over to London each year for a few weeks, to 'race' the streets around Harrods. It was the subject of a documentary on Channel 4, Millionaire Boy Racers Millionaire Boy Racers - 4oD - Channel 4 It does make for a nice free car show
stuny Posted January 2, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted January 2, 2014 James - I had never considered it before, but your comment makes me think of Mattel Hot Wheels toy cars. Barbara preferred the F12 that was nearby.
Hank Taylor Posted January 12, 2014 Share #12 Posted January 12, 2014 Stuart, nice shots, have one question, why is the stripe on the bonnet off center to the front ? Hank
stuny Posted January 12, 2014 Author Share #13 Posted January 12, 2014 Hank - Thank you. There is large louver in the front to draw air out the back of the radiator. If you stand directly in front of the car the stripes line up perfectly.
wda Posted January 12, 2014 Share #14 Posted January 12, 2014 Stuart, I would remove the stripes. Your choice. After all it is simple to save an alternative layer in Photoshop for recall, should your fancy change.
George James Posted January 12, 2014 Share #15 Posted January 12, 2014 Stuart, Beautiful car, but for me, no stripes.

stuny Posted January 19, 2014 Author Share #17 Posted January 19, 2014 Gianluca - Thank you. These are through the window of the Ferrari Boutique on Park Avenue at 55th Street in Manhattan around 6:00 in the morning. I think they forbid photos taken from inside the store.
