Sandokan Posted April 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Parked near my house so I could not resist. I havent seen a Mark III since ... the days when England regularly won at cricket. These are smaller as I am afraid I cannot hand hold the DMR as well as I think I can and camera shake is the result. rob_x2004 Posted April 15, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 15, 2007 An export model? Never thought of that.
stuny Posted April 15, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 15, 2007 Ravi - the angle in #1 is superb, as are the details and colors.
jmr Posted April 15, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 15, 2007 Ravi, I agree with Stuart - the first frame is outstanding.
Sandokan Posted April 15, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted April 15, 2007 Thank you Stuart and Rob. My first shot was from higher up and the beauty of digital is that I saw immediately it did not work, and re-shot.
earleygallery Posted April 15, 2007 Share #6 Posted April 15, 2007 Nice shots - I used to have a MkIV for a short while until I crashed it
Photoskeptic Posted April 16, 2007 Share #7 Posted April 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does that take me back. I had a room mate in college who had a first generation Spit. What a piece of junk. Had the quickest transition to oversteer I've ever experienced. Why oh why do people insist on keeping crappy Brit sportscars from the sixites going? (I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but hey, the truth sometimes hurts)
biglouis Posted April 16, 2007 Share #8 Posted April 16, 2007 Ravi, nice pictures of a classic car. Unfortunately, I agree with John that the mechanics and the longevity was crap. That did not stop a whole generation of youths lusting after owning one (including me) because the styling is timeless. I mean, just look at that petrol cap ...... to die for, or what? Sandokan Posted April 16, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted April 16, 2007 Hi Lois, I have to say it does look great, but I have a hankering after a mid-60's Daimler V8 250 (similar to a Inspector Morse Jag). I bought an Alvis TE21 instead some years back but wish I had got the Daimler instead. Anyway, the Mark IV was also a nice car and I have seen more of them around. Mind you, if you like petrol caps, the Daimler Double 6 with its twin tanks was a sight to see when the owner was filling both simultaneously from opposite pumps. Thanks Ravi
Guest Bernd Banken Posted April 16, 2007 Share #10 Posted April 16, 2007 at those times the Spiti and it's brother the Herald had the smallest turning-circle of all cars. If I remember well it was under 8 mtr. The rear axle was unpredictible during fast driving. For me a AH Sprite Frogeye was the better choice:D Bernd
