This gallery is an absolute treat. Each image has so much to offer; and viewed over time, I love the way the thread is chronicling the seasons' turn in different parts of the world.

For me, this is LUF at its best. Thank you everyone for all your contributions to this thread. Please keep them coming.

This is the Giant Kauri tree called Tane Mahuta, which in Maori means 'Lord of the Forest'. It is estimated to be between 1,250 and 2,500 years old, stands 168 feet tall (51 metres) and measures 45 feet (17 metres) around its trunk.

 

Photographs just do not do this majestic living being justice; standing next to it is completely humbling.
