stuny Posted August 20, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I guess he decided not to get tatoos, piecings, strange hair and clothing, and opted instead for somthing on wheels to dazzle the chicks. I suspect he's still awaiting the bedazzling. Tthis silly regtro car is amazingly long. Anyone know what it is? I don't. Welcome, dear visitor! Michael Hiles Posted August 20, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2013 Is this possibly an Excalibur? My Gawd.
pauledell Posted August 20, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 20, 2013 Stuart, An attention getter but whoever owns it needs a super long garage to get it into. Is this what you would call a stretch sportscar? Paul
earleygallery Posted August 20, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 20, 2013 Looks like a custom job, maybe one for Will-I-Am ? stuny Posted August 20, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted August 20, 2013 Michael - The Excalibur was an superb retrocar, of surprisingly small size, modeled after the Mercedes SSK. It used a shortened Studebaker frame and eventually had a Corvette engine. This one pictured is an ungainly monster. Pictures never did it the Excalibur justice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excalibur_(automobile) Andreas - If I knew what it was I'd have saved it. Honcho - Yes, I noitced that, too and found it rather funny James & Jaap - Thank you.
dkCambridgeshire Posted August 21, 2013 Share #9 Posted August 21, 2013 Google 'Mitsuoka Le-Seyde' and check the images. YouTube has a few videos. Mitsuoka is the 10th largest Japanese car manufacturer. They make/have made various replicas of classic RR and Jaguar cars using Japanese and Ford engines and Mitsuoka coachwork. Prices are very reasonable compared to the genuine article. dunk
stuny Posted August 21, 2013 Author Share #10 Posted August 21, 2013 Dunk - Thank you. Quite similar, but not exactly on. Perhaps there were changes in production. I doubt this one would fit on very many roads in Japan.
dkCambridgeshire Posted August 21, 2013 Share #11 Posted August 21, 2013 Dunk - Thank you. Quite similar, but not exactly on. Perhaps there were changes in production. I doubt this one would fit on very many roads in Japan. Check the models shown on You Tube including the large cars imported to the UK. They vary. dunk

Northwest Wanderer Posted August 25, 2013 Share #13 Posted August 25, 2013 Stuart, If he is trying to impress the girls with this car, please get a shot of what they might look like. That would be amusing.
Karl G Posted August 26, 2013 Share #14 Posted August 26, 2013 That certainly gives "ugly car" a new definition that I thought stretch Hummers could hold on their own.
stuny Posted August 26, 2013 Author Share #15 Posted August 26, 2013 Dee, Karl & Bill -- Thank you and. I suspect he was trying to impress indiscriminately, though maybe the woman here (http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/street-photography/296986-dressed-hot-sticky-new-york-summer.html) was one of his targets. dkCambridgeshire Posted August 26, 2013 Share #17 Posted August 26, 2013 Maybe it's a one-off car specially made for a film? Which could account for the ill-fitting boot lid (trunk lid). dunk
stuny Posted August 27, 2013 Author Share #18 Posted August 27, 2013 Bill - Thank you. Dunk - I suspect your first comment (Japanese manufacturer) was correct, but the boot (which might be a rumble seat, as they were called in the US) does not suggest very high quality.
