bonatto Posted August 4, 2013 Share #1  Posted August 4, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't generally photograph in color, but as the X1 was a newcomer to the heard, I had to give it a full run for its money. Overall I'm very happy. When I hit focus, the files at 400 look as clean as the ones from the M8, though I have not yet done close side to side comparisons. There's certainly a learning curve to this little compact, but very familiar to those used to M bodies.  This was my first time in Paris, and it will certainly not be the last. We spent 2 days and managed to brisk our way through the main sites near the tower, but 2 days is nowhere near enough time to begin to fully enjoy the city.  To Paris, my new-found amour!  Welcome, dear visitor! gnuyork Posted August 5, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted August 5, 2013 Nice images. I think the X1 is a great little camera. I really like the manual dials on top - like a real camera... I personally think the files produced are outstanding. I've never used an M8/M9 though.

robert_parker Posted August 7, 2013 Share #9 Â Posted August 7, 2013 I'm glad you resisted the temptation to convert to black and White. Â The images work particularly well in colour. Â I particularly like Images number six and seven for their composition and image number nine for an evocation of natural street life.

aballard Posted August 15, 2013 Share #14 Â Posted August 15, 2013 Wonderful series of shots that bring back the Paris I knew so many years ago when I studied there and served in the military there--lucky guy that I was. bonatto Posted August 16, 2013 Author Share #15 Â Posted August 16, 2013 I'm glad to hear you enjoyed this set, and thank you for the kind comments. It was my first time in Paris, and had an enjoyable time waffling around searching for the perfect croissant! It was a very special experience. Â For the most part, we were warmly welcomed, well served, and the places and streets I visited planted a seed in my mind that, maybe, somehow, at some point, I will have to spend some serious time in Paris........
