LVSBB6 Posted April 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been searching the forum to get an idea on what you guys are using. I thought if we could all post our gear in one thread, it would be easier for people to ask questions about equipment they have their eyes on from the people that already own it. Feel free to comment on any particular piece of equipment that you have, recommend for, or against it. Hopefully this thread will serve its function and not just drop off the page. Happy Easter!! norbertnl Posted April 9, 2007 Share #9 Posted April 9, 2007 I thought if we could all post our gear in one thread, it would be easier for people who are little bit malicious to locate the equipment and take possession of it, even without having obtained explicit consent from those who own it. Impressive list of equipment, though :-) All the best, Norbert

doubice Posted April 11, 2007 Share #14 Posted April 11, 2007 What is it? Bath soap? Jaap, Though a little hard to see - this invaluable piece of Leica equipment says "Zucker" on the side. It is a genuine Leitz Wetzlar sugar cube model 1, picked up many years ago in the Leitz cafeteria in Wetzlar. Comes with provenance and is guaranteed to be original, not a Russian fake . gberger Posted April 12, 2007 Share #16 Posted April 12, 2007 A military reticule that the Wetzlar folk installed in my 7x50 Marsept binocs in August of1946. The lightweight Marsept binoculars were made, by Leitz, for Panzer tank commanders and forward artillery fire control spotters The firing correction and ranging reticule, located in the left eye, was marked in angular mils (to calculate radial firing command corrections) and horizontal / vertical meters to correct for "over or under" distances. They made a "mils and yards" one for me (correcting the meters incices to yards), and installed it at my interpupiliary setting on the binoc. Nice work - - and then, in early 1948, they overhauled my very first leica - -a IIIc that I had acquired in late 1945.
