sandro Posted July 11, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) One can get lost easily in the world of Visoflex and bellows, so I try to get some things clear again. However, I can't find the year when the Bellows II was introduced for use with the Visoflex. Doe anyone know this? Thanks, Lex

luigi bertolotti Posted July 12, 2013 Share #2 Posted July 12, 2013 1960 (maybe : surely illustrated in a 1961 catalog) .
zeitz Posted July 14, 2013 Share #3 Posted July 14, 2013 The Bellows II does not appear in my 1960 catalog, but is in the 1961 catalog. The Visoflex II was released in 1959 and the Visoflex III in 1961.
sandro Posted July 14, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted July 14, 2013 Thank you both! So this means that Leitz didn't provide a Viso and Bellows which could be directly mounted on the M3. It was possible of course by means of an adapter LTM to M, but I am not sure either when those were introduced. Just found it in Laney: the adapter rings (IRZOO, ISBOO, ISOOZ) were aparently introduced in 1956. Lex
Michael Geschlecht Posted July 14, 2013 Share #5 Posted July 14, 2013 Hello Sandro, There was a bayonet mount Visoiflex I & matching Bellows made for the M3, M2 & M1. There is a bayonet fitting on the camera side of the Visoflex I & a screw mount fitting on the bellows/lens side. The bayonet mount Visoflex I was derived from an earlier version which had been developed for the Screwmount Cameras in the 1930's. Best Regards, Michael
sandro Posted July 14, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted July 14, 2013 Michael, very interesting! I missed that piece in Lanye, who mentions that this M-version of the Visoflex I was introduced in 1955. The Visoflex I itself dates from 1951, I think, based on the PLOOT which was from 1935. Thanks again, Lex
Orient XI Posted July 15, 2013 Share #7 Posted July 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) There was a bayonet mount Visoiflex I & matching Bellows made for the M3, M2 & M1. There is a bayonet fitting on the camera side of the Visoflex I & a screw mount fitting on the bellows/lens side. That's interesting the arrangement is the exact opposite on the Visoflex II screw mount model (i.e. camera side LTM, lens side bayonet). Of course the Visoflex II is thinner than the Visoflex I and would need the OUBIO adapter to move the early screw fitted lenses away from the film plane. Later Visoflex lenses such as the 180mm f/2.8 TeleElmarit and later versions of the 280mm f/4.8 Telyt, which terminate in a bayonet mount would not need the OUBIO.
