Yesterday however something very strange happens. I had an 8GB 30 MB/sec San Disk card into the camera with various photos from last days. Yesterday I took some photos in 2 different places and I was able to see all photos in the LCD of the camera. When I put the card on my Mac Book Pro and C1 to retrieve the photos , to my surprise some of them was not there !! In fact I could see all photos of the previous days , I could see the last shoots of yesterday , but I lost all photos I took early yesterday !! What I also found is that for mysterious reason some of the last pictures, took the numbers of pictures I previously deleted !!! Not good to loose photos , never happens again all this years with various cameras ... Any explanation ? Has anyone similar experience ? Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

satijntje Posted July 7, 2013 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2013 Try the following: leave the SD Card in the M8, and connect the M8 with a USB cable to your Macbook. Try now if you can transfer the files. doolittle Posted July 7, 2013 Share #3 Posted July 7, 2013 I have similar bad experiences with my M8, also involving a Sandisk card. However I have another spec Sandisk card which works perfectly with it. I have found the most success with Panasonic Gold cards (the good news is you don't need the latest expensive version of the card, the older cheaper ones work fine too). Also consider getting a new Leica branded battery for your camera. The combination of new battery and SD card has transformed my M8 from a basket case to a dependable camera. Adobe and image capture have this provision. Deleted files are not gone until they are overwritten. Use recovery software. Delete only means the directory or table of contents is erased allowing the spaces to be overwritten with new data. Always format the card in the camera in which it will be used. Do not turn on image review untill the blinking red light is out Do not delete files, only reformat the card. Deletion leads to fragmented files. No, never delete photos after downloading I believe has something to do with the fact that I was deleted always many photos and remaining photos take the place of the previous deleted ones.
