See, perfect for closeup, although your skill here is likely the main contributing factor Dunk.

The Peter Karbe team's XV lens is the enabler … unlike many zoom optics it's capable of excellent results throughout its range regardless of chosen aperture and zoom setting … and responds very well to use with e.g. Elpro achromats.

Possibly Dunk, possibly.

But still a fair bit of skill from the operator too.

I'll live with the "quirks" and every time I use it, it never ceases to amaze.

Today with rain forecast, my wife and I did a quick trip to a local area, where many years ago there had been quite a town. Now all gone.

I shot film with the MP and SWC, while the X-Vario got the treatment from my wife, usually a Fuji X10 user.

A quick couple from today, showing the camera even when set to completely auto still performs.

Very interesting, Gary. This foundation has a honeycomb appearance. Well done to your wife, excellent pictures.

Yeah, need another visit, on a misty wet gloomy day, but will be interesting to see what the film shots look like.

She used her Fuji today and remarked that it was different to the X-Vario, lol.
