A very pleasing landscape, showing the difficult terrain and industry.

Abstract cross polarisation – a work in progress project with the X Vario. This is the first 'handheld' image taken at ISO 3200 f9 to ensure usable shake free shutter speed.

Further experiments will be at lower ISO using a copy stand. The main 50cm x 50cm linear polariser is sandwiched between two sheets of glass on a daylight temperature light box. The 'polarising 'analyser' is on the camera lens. Analyser is rotated for maximum polarisation effect.  X Vario set up for jpeg, VIVID film mode, HIGH saturation ... to try and emulate Velvia film. Many years ago, pre-digital era, I used Velvia film for similar cross polarisation experiments - Velvia producing the best results.
