X Vario / Leitz Elpro VIb supplementary c/u lens ... XV lens set to 70mm (FF equiv) ... watch supported on small acrylic table placed on sheet of white paper ...  kitchen window light with white paper reflector ... handheld ... edge of camera supported on a box ... camera 'rocked' on box to experiment with live view compositions. The small acrylic tables can be purchased is 'nesting sets' via eBay and Amazon ... very useful as subject supports ... especially when main subject is juxtaposed with secondary OOF but complimentary subject underneath ... or with OOF background.

IWC Yacht Club c. 1973  Caliber 8541B designed by Albert Pellaton ... Leica X Vario / Leitz Elpro VIb achromatic close-up lens modified to fit 43mm filter mount ... Set up in a light tent for use with window light ... but light failed due to sudden cloud  ... so resorted to using an LED torch and reflectors inside the Lastolite Cubelite ... ISO 100, 3 seconds f16 ... camera on tripod ... watch supported on acrylic stand. Autowind rotor is not in focus but objective was to show escapement and serial No. and caliber reference No. 'Blurred' second hand indicative of 3 seconds exposure. ... Click on images to see detail possible using Elpro c/u lens ... My favourite and most used 'macro' tool .. Elpro VIb lenses (4.92 diopter) can be purchased for a few ££ .

Very few of these left in original condition ... most have been "Hoovered up" by Star Wars enthusiasts. This example is an MOD issue.

Microflash suggests to me it might have been used with the MPP Technical or press camera, which served the armed forces in the 1950s and 1960s. Micro Precision Products helped to fill the the void left by a dearth of new professional photo equipment after WWII.

Jack Tait Superwide 6x9 shift camera

Jack Tait is a UK custom camera designer / maker.  JT's 6x9 SUPERWIDE shift camera of aluminium / brass construction is fitted with a Schneider 47mm Super-Angulon lens, two bubble levels, and a 'revolving' Mamiya RB Pro-S 6x7 roll film back. Lens covers 4x5; coverage on 6x7 is equivalent to 19mm on 135 format. Camera body has 22mm total shift movement; shift is coupled to the viewfinder mask thus no ground glass screen required ... but would be a useful addition.  One of five known JT Superwide cameras it was listed on Ffordes website approx 12 years ago. I have not used the camera  ... roll film back requires replacement light seals.

Photos taken using tripod mounted Leica X Vario / Olympus VF-2 EVF using manual focus ... ISO 200, f16, long-ish shutter speeds with 2 secs self-timer; Lastolite 60cm Cubelite / kitchen window daylight. The X Vario is eminently suited to still life photography when tripod mounted and fitted with an articulating VF-2 electronic finder.
