Yesterday I met an old friend (known him since the 3rd grade) whom I've seen only once in the past twenty years. We hiked around near were he lives here in Queens, NY and Little Neck Bay. My son took the shot of us both here.

Cheers to a New Year! David

What a glorious tangle of plant life. Erosion?

Yes, this was from an area outside of Tampa, Florida, where the trees are well above elevation and people have been constantly hiking though the area killing the ground cover which has lead to erosion. The trees seem to have adapted as the area has been like this for some time.

Toshi, it is not necessary when your comment directly follows the posting triggering a comment. I was told this, many years ago, by a Moderator on the old Leica Forum.

Happy New Year, all.  This shot taken at Glenstone in Potomac, MD yesterday.  No adjustments other than sizing.

Cheers, Mike

The light was actually a challenge here. At about 3:45, the sun was still fairly high and glaring at my camera. Of course it would have been easier at sunset but we weren't able to linger. That is Mount Rainier 125 miles to the south looking from Blanchard Mountain over Skagit Valley Washington. Very rare visibility and 50 degrees for a January Sunday in the Pacific Northwest. Once again, nice to have the X Vario along.
