Musings after dark in the 'hood. This was about 9PM last night, and during a break from wind gusts that were upwards of 50MPH

These were from an outing this weekend to Deception Pass (on Puget Sound). We were fortunate that rain held off until afternoon. It was a N+3 day though. I made a couple of exosures with my Monochrom which is way more critical and all of the XV exposures worked by comparison.

One more for the Gila. He was getting a little testy but a good sport overall.

I think he'd benefit from a gel filter with such a sharp lens as is the Vario-Elmar! ;)    Really nice, all kidding aside.

Thank you, David. I’ve taken a lot of Gila photos but these are my favorite, courtesy of the XV!

Just in time for Christmas, found a beautiful patch of reindeer lichen growing in the wilds of north Florida. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone!

What a beautiful lichen. I have never seen one before. The X-Vario is ideal for pictures like this one. Thank you for showing us.

Thank you, David! I was driving down the road and caught a patch of it in a scrub area and went back to check it out. I always love seeing lichen and the small plants and animals often go unseen.

I probably should not have pulled over on a busy highway, but this sunrise was simply magnificent. I must say that the XV is great for this atypical scenario as you can set up the shot on the camera and focus on your subject while *safely* navigating traffic. I chose one with the semi passing through for context, but have a few without as well.
