honcho Posted January 24, 2016 Share #10085 Posted January 24, 2016 Forgive me if I have posted—I don't think I have, but the forum software doesn't allow an easy search of one's posts—these before, but all are from the excellent Voigtlander Bessa III (aka Fuji GF670, made by Cosina in either case I'm feeling a strong urge to load it up and use it again. As Oscar Wilde said, "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it." I think I'm about to yield. Chris Lovely camera! Fujifilm UK sent a GFW670 for me to try out in 2014. If I were in the market for a new travel camera, that would probably be the one, I really didn't want to have to give it back!
dgc Posted January 24, 2016 Share #10086 Posted January 24, 2016 Lovely camera! Fujifilm UK sent a GFW670 for me to try out in 2014. If I were in the market for a new travel camera, that would probably be the one, I really didn't want to have to give it back! I also have the GF670 and cannot speak highly enough of it. I like it so much I am currently bidding on a GF670W. It seems strange to be bidding on the same camera, albeit different focal lengths, but they are so compact and pocketable (if you have biggish pockets!). See here and here for some of my examples.
david strachan Posted January 24, 2016 Share #10087 Posted January 24, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Henry Thanks for the links to the camera fair. Absolutely fabulous...perhaps one day, and definitely if I go to Europe soon. Periodically I look at these pages, and am in awe by the fabulous photography of contributors. Love some of the kooky colours, and as you say, the high fidelity. Kind regards Dave S

Suede Posted January 24, 2016 Share #10092 Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) Welsh lake LEICA M6 12_10_2014-0007.jpg Leica M6, Voigtlander 1:1.4/40, ADOX Silvermax 100, Rodinal 1:100 Stand development, Plustek 7300 Thanks for posting this photograph. I have never tried the ADOX Silvermax 100 and it's nice to see from Welsh lake how it looks. I have 3 rolls of it waiting to be put through the camera; I thought to wait a bit for longer periods of light than in winter. A miller Posted January 24, 2016 Share #10093 Posted January 24, 2016 Hi Adam and Steve , a good moment to shoot in color or/and b&w no ? http://bigbrowser.blog.lemonde.fr/2016/01/24/snowzilla-les-superbes-images-de-la-cote-est-des-etats-unis-sous-la-neige/ Best Henry Hi Henry - it was both this morning in Central Park. Ektar and Tri-X. Started with the sunrise over the "bow bridge" and then spent a few hours with the glowing morning sun (I thought a lot about CHRISM as I made compositions with the snow). I hope to head out in an hour or so for the sunset over the Reservoir Lake. It was a glorious day today for shooting and I am thankful to my wife for cutting me some slack Who needs Iceland when you have Central Park under nearly 3 feet of snow!! --adam

otto.f Posted January 24, 2016 Share #10097 Posted January 24, 2016 Hi Otto, Thank you for the interest you have, about my comments film versus digital. We're both perfectionists or at least people trying to have a critical mind, not like others who hear everything they are told. That said , the logic and the principle of pixels versus film grain want to be so , with the help of camera photo software that consistently smooth EVERYTHING inevitably. We do not need crop or other evidence, but I attach myself for some time to wonder why the digital image can not satisfy me. I can always follow all these people at every new change or new purchase releases and track the pixels or Isos race or electronic rangefinder, but reason tells me that the current digital image is not sufficient and satisfactory. Perhaps the Sigma Foveon sensor ** would provide the solution (sensor with 3 layers RGB) . To see in the future ! That, I do not know if my answer suits you, but I have evidence and if you want , open another thread and I'll post other evidence, other than those you mentioned above. Otherwise, post some photos here and in other sections , I will look at them and I will comment Another proof, just look at this thread open for over two years and the increasing number of contributors with their pictures Another visible anomaly : look at the picture of "Skogkatt 59" (MM1) , legs of people in the center slightly to the right ,the girl with the white bag (11th post) , you see the squares pixels stair , more visible if you crop ? never see this in film ! http://www.summilux.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4781&start=360 Now you do what you want, I do not force anyone to follow me , keep the digital if you like it. I still have 2 digital cameras but I don't use them. They stay most of time in my Billingham bag I do not sell them because too depreciate. A M8 is now sold at 800 Euros or M240 E 4200 Euros for a new price that is twice. You have said "depreciate" ? For your information , analog M6 sells for around 1000-1200 E. Best regards Henry ** http://www.chassimages.com/forum/index.php/topic,215687.0.html I did not mean to say that your HP5 image is not a good illustration of your vision, nor did I mean to start a discussion about your legitimate preference for film. I agree with you about the esthetic value of grain, I posted that a long time ago: I miss the AGFA 50L Tungsten slide film still very much. In B&W the Kodak TMZ exposed at 3200asa, developed in good old HC110, gives wonderfull results where grain is of paramount importance for the artistic quality of the final image. Still I think that the MM1 makes photoos possible of moments that would flow away unrecorded or unprocessable if it had to be captured by film.
chrism Posted January 24, 2016 Share #10098 Posted January 24, 2016 Just got back from a three hour drive to the airport.
