As others have already mentioned, this is a terrific shot--a perfectly caught moment filled with tension.

Thank you sincerely, Brent. I felt there was something very powerful about the sacred bond between horse and rider reflected here.

Love this! It could be from a French New Wave movie...

„New wave“ or „Nouvelle Vague“ in the french Movies of the 50s/60s. Thank you for your nice comment. When I'm in Paris, I often think of him - François Truffaut. Unfortunately, the people, streets and squares look different today. My first visit to Paris was in 1985 (Simone and M2 always on my side).

I think Aryel was referring to New Wave (that British/French zeitgeist of the early eighties) with films like Diva (director Jean-Jaques Beineix), which indeed resembled your image's mood and was shot at that time partly in Paris. However, it was shot in colour. Otherwise, you are right, of course, about „New Wave “ or „Nouvelle Vague“, Truffaut etc ... nice picture, BTW.

I was referring to the French "Nouvelle Vague", so indeed Truffaut, Godard etc.  It just looks like the perfect intro scene, waiting for the story to unroll... Very nice 'Frenchy' mood. I want to go home each time I look at it and I am not even from Paris.

Dusted off the old Rollei 3.5F and took it to Yosemite.  Had a roll of Porta 160 in the freezer that had been there for 16 years.  Had it processed the other day and here are two frames.  It was fun wandering around for a few days trying to decide which 12 things I wanted to photograph. Cathedral Rock was high on the list. Unfortunately for the week we were there, there were mostly boring blue skies.

And of course, you need to have Yosemite Falls in there somewhere.  This from across Cooks Meadow.  Both these are scanned by the place that developed them.

both photos look pretty spectacular in lightbox.

I imagine from the volume of the Falls that you were there in late Feb. or March. I understand that it gave a fantastic show this year.

About three weeks ago.  Good volume, but have seen better.  Nothing was flooding.  Last year there was some flooding and on our last day they evacuated the campground.  Good timing on our part.  We are always there last week of April and/or first week of May.

Love this photo. It feels like William Gibson’s Mona Lisa Overdrive or Neuromancer. :))
