I like film...(open thread)

Purely a lighting shot. Strong sunlight reflected through another window, and then across the street onto this wall. Near the limits of it's strength. I think the VC Heliar and Rollei RPX captured the spirit of it. Straight off of scanner. No adjustment whatsoever.

@ Phil, and his beautiful flowers:

This was taken at 0 degrees, Fahrenheit..........That would be -17.77778 Celcius.

Artic Wayne :)

That's funny Wayne - as you were posting that, we'd just had a day of 40 degrees celsius (104.0000℉).

Narsuitus - not only is this a fascinating process, done with a simple thing like PVC pipe(!), it also happens to be a wonderful photograph, replete with sumptuous tonality. Bravo!

Every time my wife sees that building she tells me about the two storey tuned mass damper inside it, you get a lot of that when you're married to the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) Industry!

Wonderful photograph!

Thank you.

Very interesting Mike! I had no clue what kind of sophisticated technology is inside that building. Now I know [emoji6]

Great shot and remarkable quality for a pinhole camera picture!

Thank you.

Apparently it's some kind of wobbly pendulum that reduces the building's swaying in the wind. It also has three open floors to let the wind through to reduce pressure on it. :)

Seriously, I have learned some cool stuff since being married and that building in particular holds a lot of fascination for structural engineers.

When visiting Manly beach in December I stayed at a hotel next to the beach. The best light for taking pictures was very early on, maybe 5:30 am, with the Sun just showing on the Horizon. I have to admit though, that the mood and atmosphere was so enticing that I did not go to take pictures. I rather went for a walk on the beach, swimming and just enjoying life for a magic hour or so. So my earliest morning pictures are from about 8 am, after breakfast.

Very nice, Christoph. Great film choice for the NSW beaches.

A few more from the sand dune. At some point later I'll post some MF shots.

These are beautiful, Philip. The colours are wonderful. I particularly like the last shot, though, for capturing so many sets of people in so many states, ranging from conversations on the side of a sand dune, to contemplative, to out of control.

There was the idea that each of us three photographers exposed a film - and then sent it to the next photographer.

In this way, there were three exposures to a movie and in the end everyone had to develop their own photos.

I have partially exposed my film in a Leica - on the other hand in a Pentax 6x7.

Thanks, LookBook. An interesting concept. I like the images on your signature site, too.
