This weekend, my first time in my new darkroom with laundry.

File%2022-08-2016%2C%2009%2030%2001.jpeg

I missed out on the whole darkroom experience as a kid (being good at one sport was a major pitfall.)

I have a lifetime of things to learn but 4950ml more developer and 189 sheets of paper in which to make a start :D

Some of the best times are ahead.  I have spent more than 50 years enjoying the smells, the excitement of watching photos come alive, and magic of the whole darkroom experience.

Yes, much more agreeable light in TOTC's photo. However, it looks like the bridge has undergone restoration and the bridge is rather less attractive now.

I took the photo when I lived there in 1985, so it is more than 30 years old and was not restored then.

I like your picture, and I like very much your presentation. I think mounting, matting and framing is important. What's the point of a bunch of prints in a drawer - your picture is beautifully presented, and finished. Congrats.

Really, really like the first and the third.  Wonderful moments!

Thanks!  Maybe subconscious desire to imitate The Master?   Mine was a reflex grab and, sadly, the framing shows that lack of planning (especially in comparison with HCB's elegance).  Been too long since I did street shooting and my brain just seems slow as a result -- I'm not anticipating images / framing as quickly as I used to when I was shooting more.  Practice does make a difference, I fear.

I've lost my shooting mojo a bit lately, maybe if I go through some of my HCB books it might help

Gary - give Winogrand a try. Much less intimidating.

I like his stuff but not got round to buying any of his books, I've got "in England" by Don McCullin which is great love his contrasty B+W also got a great book by William Klein "Life is good & Good for you in New York which didn't go down very well with the authorities in NY, going to get these out this week

The last of the Spain series.  Hope you enjoy them.  This one is of a small village near where I lived.  There are power lines going through the upper portion, so I cropped them out.  I've got a B&W print hanging in our home.

and the second one, I took this in Madrid on one of my trips there.  I liked the colors, it was mid day, not night like it appears.
