fotomas Posted 17 hours ago Share #94294 Posted 17 hours ago I always was sorry that I haven't had my Leica when Agfapan 25 was still available. Now two 17 m spools went into my hands and I made a test with the older one. The film was expired in July 1985, so over 40 years ago. It has developed a decent stain, but sensitivity only dropped about 1/3 f-stop and it is still usable. But I'm afraid it lost some of it's qualities. It came out quite grainy and I wonder if the spectral sensitivity might have changed. Think I will make a test with a more fine grained developer as well. Now it has a overwhelming sensitivity for blue light and only minor for the rest. I remember this character from the past, but I hardly believe, that it was such strong in the past. Could it be, that the dyes for the spectral sensitivity might change over the years? Wonder how I can test this? Unfortunately if haven't had the necessary test-chart for this when I had used fresh AP 25. Here one result from today Welcome, dear visitor! M6, 50 mm Summicron V, Agfapan 25, 20 ASA, two-bath homebrew Agfapan 25 was certainly a very special film. I used a lot of it back in the day, often developed in Rodinal Special.
