Both images seem rather soft. Is your version of this lens inherently soft, is it the film you are using or a long exposure time? Be it as it may, the look is nice.

Thanks for asking. the performance of this lens is unique.

It is wide open at 1.5 in both shots. The long expired film is shot at about ISO 10. Very low shutter speed. It is likely a combination of slow shutter, expired film, and shooting an old Sonnar wide open. Zeiss is known for great precision, but I believe this one may have been produced just after WWII.....Possibly, putting food on the table took precedence over absolute quality at the Jena plant in those days. Below are a couple more. My granddaughter is in better light, so possibly 1/10 shutter speed, but still wide open. The tree is in sunlight and at faster shutter speed. All are from the same  roll.

I have thought about sending to those guys in GB who specialize in these old Sonnar lenses. But, then again, I do like a surprise every now and then.
