Thank you sincerely Klaus. You're right - it was the tilt that got me. Now I just have to find that squinting woman...

Faber Castel? 2HB? What pencils did you use for this exquisite drawing with its oh-so-subtle greys?

Thank you, Phil. About the beautiful woman: just look around, maybe she's nearer than you think.   About the Faber Castel: Yes, my drawers are full of them. But in this case the SWC and the good new Acros did it for me.  The wing nut never fails to fascinate me when  I see it: it lives in a quiet memorial park which I like very much for its old trees and the atmosphere. They ask you to keep the gates closed, lest the wild boars don't molest you....

Nice photo Christoph. Couldn't exactly explain why, but I like it. Maybe it reminds me of my family holidays on the Dutch coast and the Grimbergen beers I had on these terraces.... And of course the interesting rhythm of the picture, the tones and the mood. And the hint of surrealism...

Bologna #5

In the old part of the town most house are painted in a color somewhere between dark yellow and ochre, so the light coming in through windows and backyard doors  is never white, but always in that palette..

MP; Summaron-M 5,6/28, P 400.  Wide open, 1/15 sec.  It was darker than it seems. Some correction of perspective in LR.

Unfortunately the cat didn't  show up..

Bologna #6;

First of May Parade of the Unions of Emilia Romagna.   This was actually 2 weeks later because on May 1st, torrents of rain made any parade impossible.

I like the colours. Are you taking the pictures now that should have inspired de Chirico?

Thank you Christoph for that association. 😁. A dwarf sitting on a giants shoulder I am.  Yes, de Chirico is one of my favorites, and of course the galleries and arches in his paintings locate them undoubtedly in Northern Italy.  Bologna boast 30+ km of galleries ....together with the illumination of the  setting sun the town becomes  a photographers dream.   Anyway: there is another Giorgio when talking about Bologna: G Morandi... you can understand better his more or less monochromatic iterations of bottles and flasks in his still lifes  when you have been in his yellow-red home town..

This is a painting; this is a photograph; this is a painting. The oscillation of visual vertigo, the snap of optical acuity, the cinema of transport. Standing to applaud.
