What an extraordinarily beautiful photograph.
I wish I'd taken it,

Thank you so much for your kind comment. It is one of the case where everything aligned perfectly (from the situation to the mounted lens and loaded film).

Phil, the black matter is creeping in. Nice.

Using Pyrocat and large format certainly helps in rendering the fine detail with limited grain. In your experience, does the developer help in creating this specific subdued tonality?

Aryel, as already mentioned, a phantasmic picture; the same world, but also a very different one. The grainy details of the jellyfish would make a fantastic wallpaper.

Now I know where they make the wind 😀. Elmar, yellow filter and CHS make a wonderful combination here (and of course the photographer's eye).

Actually, it was a very odd day lightwise and also the film didn't scan completely flat for some reason. Generally, the Mamiya + Pyrocat combo produces very high (too high often) contrast. I also use Barry Thornton's 2-bath, which is much lower contrast generally, but good for scanning.

Lovely portrait, Steve. And a very nice background your Heliar supplied. I wonder how the C-Sonnar would have handled that...
