Really cool framing, I think. A bit of humanity constrained in brutalist surroundings and by technology. I don't see the pixels myself but what about putting a slightly opaque sheet of overhead film or such (or even just piece of white cotton sheet) on top of the tablet? Or would that kill too much of the light perhaps. What extension tubes did you use with the (great) 55/2.8 micro?

Two people listening to music boxes at an exhibition in Beijing in 2004. Mamiya C330, Mamiya-Sekor 55mm 1:4.5, Fujichrome Provia 100? RDP III. I digitised this yesterday with my new/old Nikon D610 and Micro-Nikkor 55mm 1:2.8 + extension.  Sat the transparency slightly elevated on top of an old Samsung tablet showing a white screen. It wasn't elevated enough because I can see the pixels when zoomed in, although not so bad in this image. Will fix it on Flickr later. The Nikkor was at f/8.

Really nice Thomas. But it looks like the people in Middelburg have put the drempel the wrong way :D Perhaps it's meant to hinder high-speed pedestrians from crossing the street to quickly.

John, Pritam, great pictures! And it makes me realise how tricky it must be for all the poor image identification AIs out there to tell one picture from another. We discerning humans can, of course, very easily see that one is Ektar and the other ProImage :D

Here's another slice of San Francisco anno 2001 (and an unwitting homage to Michael Bay...🙄). I seem to have been unable to avoid trees in these photos.

Sometimes it is almost impossible to see where the path is leading, especially in a monochrome world.

wow, what atmosphere! The clarity in the foreground fading into haze is amazing.

Thank you, bags 27. It was a sunny morning after a frosty night-maybe that's what caused the haze.

There's such an insignificant spec way down the road, and it's not unreasonable to speculate it's someone else on the canal walk. There's such detail in your landscapes, roadside wanderings, that invites tagging along and enjoying evidence of living in the moment. Into the sun, I'm going to put on my sunglasses.

Talk about eagle vision... yes, the guy was moving fast, so before I could get my shot, he was about to vanish...maybe it came out just right anyway

If Jackson Pollock were looking for a bench, he would find these planks on Kauai.

😁 . I guess he would not dare to sit on these... What a cool idea to make these technical, shiny, smooth and silvery metal strips the spacers of the rough boards with the scaling surface. The combination of these two surfaces results in  an almost haptic effect.

Antonio, this should not be called a guilty pleasure, but an ongoing project. I like doing the same photo again and again myself... It´s interesting to watch the minute changes...

Rog, I have to admit I had to go to the Met-site to kick my memory about this particular picture.... and you are right: Vermeer is soo  photographic... particularly the " Girl asleep" lines and geometry bear the hallmark of a SWC picture... and you aptly chose the colors of the frame to pay homage to Vermeer.. The rest is left to our imagination.. as it is in so many Vermeer pictures.

Yes, I can see the silvery metal strips, which gets my vote for creative, but here's the reality. Ocean. Very intriguing, your notion of "haptic photography," non-language communication which conveys meaning through physical contact, according to the Oxford dictionary. Well, I had to look it up, and I am not sure how it would work, but I get buzzed by the idea of non-language communication. Doesn't this create its own language, though?

Loving this series, Rog!  Especially this one (which also works well as a 3:1 crop!).

Those planks are a gift!

Thanks for your comments, Steve. And thank you for your Standing Stone Series, more than sublime--quite simply stupendous. Looking at your work has prompted me to pull my copy of Paul Caponigro's Megaliths off the bookshelf for a visit. Your landscape portraits do indeed capture the face of a mysterious age.

The echo of Albrecht Dürer's Great Piece of Turf! So, 517 years ago he has the audacity of painting a watercolor of a roadside clump? The art of the overlooked, perhaps? The astounding order of the clump. We need to invent watercolor, first? Let's paint with film, or is it film with paint? Chiasmus. Dr. Klaus, you are painting with film. Luminous. Applause, applause.
