Popular Post Kl@usW. Posted December 10, 2019 Popular Post Share #65491 Posted December 10, 2019 another find in the shoebox: Probably a film not so often seen nowadays: Polapan 135/ black and white. Needed a special dev machine and the negative was something special: a distinct silver sheen unlike any other film, expensive, capricious, toxic grain...but ! The Minox 35 EL was full format in the size of a cigarette box- equipped with a Triotar 2,8--sharp in the center, but as I see now, not so in the corners. I loved it, but you needed at least 3 of them to have one working... Locarno 2001 Welcome, dear visitor! We use the term "painterly" when describing the merits of a work, meaning it is artistic in the sense that it bears the personal signature, the unique character of the "painter" and now the photographer. Well, what I am getting around to saying is that this deserves more than a sidelong glance, so painterly. Another for the art museum! Bravo.

I hope your scanner and M7 will recover soon. I just got my TTL back from Wetzlar. I had forgotten it on an airplane a few months ago and it was shipped back to me lying all alone without padding in a large box which caused the rangefinder to become misaligned. Now it's back and fit for the holiday fight On 12/9/2019 at 11:33 PM, Kl@usW. said: Setting up my new computer, I stumbled upon a virtual shoebox of pictures. Since my scanner is on strike ( only tangram-like patterns), my M7 is on it´s way to Wetzlar , I´ll object them to the test of time... I collected the stranded goods on the shores of Sardinia in 2006. My camera then was a R 9, the lens a Apo-Macro 100, film probably an Ektachrome 100... my standard staple. ( btw: should have kept all of it... ) The scanner a Minolta-Konica .I took the photo on top of a garden table, lighting by courtesy of the setting sun. The guess-focus takes some getting used to but with a fast film it's a point and shoot with often great results. 10 hours ago, Kl@usW. said: another find in the shoebox: Probably a film not so often seen nowadays: Polapan 135/ black and white. But... how slow? 1/60th - I have the 40mm wide heavy-duty Hasselblad strap on the camera and brace the camera against myself to form a fairly stable platform (triangulation & all that). It was only afterwards I realised I had forgotten that I could / should have used the mirror-lockup function but despite the clunk-clack of the mirror doing its thing, the images came out reasonably sharp. Back in early 2017 with my (then) H500C, 60mm Distagon and Portra 400 I used a similar bracing method plus mirror lockup and took this shot at 1/30th. Did not have any real expectation of a useable result but luck must have been on my side that day. Welcome, dear visitor!
