Yes Gregor I agree with comments above

A great and warm picture frozen in the time just for one picture ...

the grain the black and white are beautiful plus grain..

May be in some dozen of years when you watch again this picture

you'll have great memories I am sure ! and film you can keep without

loss of details !

Wayne for me these pictures remind me some very old images

Very special impression when we watch , may be the color a bit vintage, the grain

or the composition :)

Very nice series . I like specially the first picture, simple and beautiful color of Fuji

Film Kodak Color 200 ISO, Leica R7, Summicron-R ,50mm

Welcome Khun to our film thread :)

I am glad to see some pictures from Myanmar ... :)

Beautiful color of sunset and the shadow gives a plus for your picture.

I know that in digital it's perhaps for certain of you,  better ... but the color

is not the same (you can believe me)* and lack of beautiful grains !

Thank you

Have you more ?

Best

Henry

* I continue to compare both systems because I still have 2 M digital

just for this purpose

Agree with all other comments on this wonderfully deceptively simple picture. A great grab at just the right time.

From where Bill Brandt stood with his Rolleiflex in 1944 and made his image "Catch Points" from his photo essay "Hail Hell and Halifax" for Lillyput Magazine

The railway has now gone but the bridge over the trackbed is still there. The site of Halifax North Bridge Station is now a car park and a Sainsbury's supermarket.

The old mills still stand but no longer make carpets. The Halifax Courier newspaper moved from it's central town location and now occupies the old fire station building in the centre of the complex. This is where my daughter worked and three years ago was given her break into local journalism.

For those who follow such things the UK Conservative Party Launched it's manifesto for the 2017 Election just off this picture.

Leica M4P with 21mm SEM  Kodak TRI-X  D76 stock.

THIS illustrates why Leica cameras, 21mm lenses and tri-x were invented. Superb.

A bit of Stockholm noir from a few winters back, probably shot with one of my 50mm lenses (Double-X in HC-110(H)).

I just love the slightly "voyeuristic" look and feel that we get a sense of what is going on upstairs while the shadowy person passes in the night. Very Noir indeed!

Super shot. I like how everyone's eyes are dancing around but the dog only has eyes for something else - the kitchen?

A really nice little moment in time, the mundane made anything but.

^Very nice capture above with Monk and bird but it looks a little strange at the bottom, is it just the shallow DOF/reflection?

A couple of Aussie scenes

I put my CPL on the SWC for safe keeping but forgot, so excuse the crazy sky. (Provia400)

Richard I like much these pictures ... all show us something we see every day but not notice.

Color is beautiful wood and grass in picture 2

Thank you

Henry

Gentlemen, thank you for your kind comments. In the normal case, I would not post family pictures, but as Erl wrote ... I will rethink my attitude :).

Many thanks

Gregor

Ratzfatz, I really like this style of documentary. I do this sort of thing myself, especially for family gatherings, or just today's meal. I think such images gain enormously in value with time, for obvious reasons. I wish more posters would contribute similar efforts. Sheepishly, I admit (in this thread) that a lot of mine are digitally recorded, for which I have no regrets. I should now dig through my archives and find some suitable ones shot on film.

hahahah .. Yes you are absolutely right! The dog has eyes only for the kitchen...!

Agree with the other commenters. Seemingly a simple family shot but powerful and timeless.

Edward and Christoph, thank you very much for your kind comments.

Yes, I am agree. The dog makes the photo ... hahahahah

Nice, simple, normal life captured in the best possible way.

I particularly enjoy that dog.

Thanks all for the positive feedback on the 50APO beach shots.

Love your family shots above Steve, the R6.2 is a fine camera, looks like you are enjoying it.

Totally agree with straycat's (and everyone else's) nicely expressed thoughts on film through the lens of timet.

I don't normally share family pictures but since we're on the subject, time is all too short, and my youngest is now 7 (and right at this moment in time I can feel her standing on the precipice of leaving innocence behind forever.)

A fun 'old school cool' shot with the SWC/Provia 400. A very recent holiday rental house with such retro authentic furniture we felt compelled to capture it.

And both my kids, with the Rolleiflex/Portra 160 this time

Both pictures I find superb, well done!

Our little dog Milo passed away today. She loved the beach and I dedicate this to her:

Sorry to hear of the loss of your little companion. Somehow death (and loss) is part of the condition of human life, as much as we want not to think of it. At least the invention of photography allows us to watch some frozen moments of times past, and to trigger happy memories.

Thank you sincerely, Christoph. And you are absolutely correct about the beauty of life, and of photography.

This is such a cool photograph, and I agree that such unposed snippet-of-time pictures gain value with time. The situation likely wasn't at all like this when the photo was taken, but it almost seems as if the lady who has her back to the camera is being excluded deliberately by the other people from the conversation. Even the dog tries to leave. It almost looks like a film still or a shot from a play.

Some more darkish Stockholm stuff, again 5222 at EI800 in HC-110(H).

Come to think of it, I believe I shot most of these with my 75 Summicron, which is a bloody amazing lens. But it is one of my least used lenses so I've put it up for sale in the classifieds, calibrated just this week and with Leica 6-bit coding added, hint hint.
