Side exit, Half Moon Saloon.

Wayne, it occurs to me that this is an especially effective "slice of life" picture in the idiomatic vein because it hints at a world beyond - the world to which the denizens of the saloon would disperse on leaving (and from which of course they'd enter).  So a particularly strong approach here, making for a wonderful picture.

Thank you for the compliment. I am fascinated by the aftermath of things.....the detritus. When I stopped to take this shot, I thought about my youth and the affect it had on me to revisit such places after past "wild nights:" the thoughts I had, even then, that consequence always awaited. Your comment gives me comfort that I was able to capture the mood this time.

Best,

Wayne

Ratzfatz, I really like this style of documentary. I do this sort of thing myself, especially for family gatherings, or just today's meal. I think such images gain enormously in value with time, for obvious reasons. I wish more posters would contribute similar efforts. Sheepishly, I admit (in this thread) that a lot of mine are digitally recorded, for which I have no regrets. I should now dig through my archives and find some suitable ones shot on film.

Super shot. I like how everyone's eyes are dancing around but the dog only has eyes for something else - the kitchen?

A really nice little moment in time, the mundane made anything but.

^Very nice capture above with Monk and bird but it looks a little strange at the bottom, is it just the shallow DOF/reflection?

A couple of Aussie scenes

I put my CPL on the SWC for safe keeping but forgot, so excuse the crazy sky. (Provia400)

From where Bill Brandt stood with his Rolleiflex in 1944 and made his image "Catch Points" from his photo essay "Hail Hell and Halifax" for Lillyput Magazine

The railway has now gone but the bridge over the trackbed is still there. The site of Halifax North Bridge Station is now a car park and a Sainsbury's supermarket.

The old mills still stand but no longer make carpets. The Halifax Courier newspaper moved from it's central town location and now occupies the old fire station building in the centre of the complex. This is where my daughter worked and three years ago was given her break into local journalism.

For those who follow such things the UK Conservative Party Launched it's manifesto for the 2017 Election just off this picture.

I'm a big fan of your work, Paul! The series of photos you posted are all outstanding!

My son and future daughter-in-law (future ends Labor Day Weekend) -- Leica R 6.2 and the R 90mm Elmarit ..... wanted to get an SLR, skipped the SL (digital) and went straight to the M6 equivalent ... weight, form factor, etc is GREAT! purely mechanical except for the TTL meter, spot or average choice. Will have some fun with this in the coming weeks ...  BTW, no crop because I wanted to show the whole pic and no adjustments ...

here is a cropped picture of my sweetheart with her grandson in the pool ....

Beautiful skin tones! Lovely moment in the second shot :)
