MarkP Posted May 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Joadja, southwest of Sydney, is the site of an shale oil refining town that was abandoned in 1910 when the kerosine industry finally failed. I went there with some others to do some night photography of the ruined and overgrown buildings and refinery (to be posted later). My favourite photograph from the excursion was not of the ghost town or ghost refinery, but that of the rising moon lighting up the valley. Thanks for looking. M9 3.4/21SEM Welcome, dear visitor! pauledell Posted May 16, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 16, 2013 Mark, A fine picture with the lighting, sharpness and framing. I like the way the leaves on the trees glimmer like lights on the limbs. Paul

MarkP Posted May 16, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted May 16, 2013 Thanks to you all for your comments Ideally I would have liked to have had the moon less overexposed and more identifiable for what it really is but I just didn't have the exposure lattitude available to me, and I don't like HDR. Jaish Posted November 8, 2014 Share #10 Posted November 8, 2014 Beautiful photo! The whole scene is spectacular. On a second look, I noticed the reflection on the leaves where it looked like they were a light source themselves. Thanks for sharing this.
