Steve Ricoh Posted April 9, 2017 Share #121 Posted April 9, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica 14076 from Harrison's, for example, is available for £40. Expensive yes, but if needs must etc. But does it fit the M240, and by how many turns of thread engagement would I expect to see - anyone know? Thanks. Advertisement Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Hi Steve Ricoh, Take a look here Remote cable release for M240 - has Leica modified their standard one?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
MarkP Posted April 9, 2017 Share #122 Posted April 9, 2017 Well I I bought a genuine older style Nikon cable release and have been using it with great success for about 6 months now. Despite the fact that I love my M240, I must admit that I find it a bit pahetic that in the second decade of the 21st century, that Leica should make a high end camera with a bloody mechanical cable release. As a friend of mine in the advertising industry quipped recently "Leica - for people who are desperately afraid to move out of their comfort zone. I wouldn't mind if my M-Leica had a remote wireless shutter release. However, I would be most disappointed if my M-Leica didn't have a mechanical cable release socket. Nothing easier and more reliable than a manual cable release for tripod work. Reliable and immediate control over opening and closing the shutter just when I want.
stephengv Posted December 18, 2017 Share #123 Posted December 18, 2017 I'm on the market for the Leica Cable Release. Is it really not worth it on the M 240?
Exodies Posted December 18, 2017 Share #124 Posted December 18, 2017 Well I I wouldn't mind if my M-Leica had a remote wireless shutter release. Reliable and immediate control over opening and closing the shutter just when I want. Just when you want plus a few milli seconds reaction time (1/3 second?) the same as an electronic release would give.
