Advertisement Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Hi MPerson, Take a look here Another Fuji film increase coming.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
moikle Posted March 24, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 24, 2013 Unfortunately this is inevitable as the market must be continually contracting. For me there is a fair way to go on price before I consider abandoning film. Mike
Farkle-Mpls Posted March 25, 2013 Share #3 Posted March 25, 2013 At least they are not exiting the business. I'd rather pay increased prices then not to have an option to shoot Fujifilm products.
CalArts 99 Posted March 25, 2013 Share #4 Posted March 25, 2013 Some new style packaging, too: FUJIFILM Corporation renews the package design of professional photographic films | Fujifilm Global I think film is still a pretty good deal. 36 frames of something tangible and that you can keep forever in a physical form once it's processed. And available for use only in cameras that you can also keep forever without any anxiety of them going obsolete overnight.
philipus Posted March 25, 2013 Share #5 Posted March 25, 2013 I'm not big on Fuji any longer, except for the occasional Velvia. For colour neg, Portra 400 is all I need (this is an interesting comparison with Pro 400H). I do like the redesigned boxes, though, but I hope that is not the reason for the price increase
Pintpot Posted March 25, 2013 Share #6 Posted March 25, 2013 Unfortunately this is inevitable as the market must be continually contracting. Mike This is indeed true I know of another film manufacturer ( not 35mm ) who are uplifting their prices as from April 1st by a double figure percentage. their reason for this is the increased cost of manufacture for a shrinking market. This I know to be true as I've seen the market shrink by a massive amount over the last 12 months. Regards
plasticman Posted March 25, 2013 Share #7 Posted March 25, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) This I know to be true as I've seen the market shrink by a massive amount over the last 12 months. What are your exact figures for this? And the source for them?
moikle Posted March 25, 2013 Share #8 Posted March 25, 2013 Why no new packaging for Provia 400X? I hope that's not about to go the way of the many. Mike
jplomley Posted March 25, 2013 Share #9 Posted March 25, 2013 Where is Neopan 400????
andybarton Posted March 25, 2013 Share #10 Posted March 25, 2013 Still listed as in stock at Mathers of Lancashire - Fuji Neopan 400 35mm 36 Exposure Film And 7dayshop Whether it's still being made is another matter.
Keith (M) Posted March 25, 2013 Share #11 Posted March 25, 2013 Still listed as in stock at Mathers of Lancashire - Fuji Neopan 400 35mm 36 Exposure Film Pricey though @ GBP4.99p compared with T-Max and Tri-X @ GBP3.69p. Partly due to the forthcoming price increase, I was considering re-stocking with Acros 100 in 120 size. For ISO 400 I normally use HP5+ but for this order thought to try Neopan 400, but it is not listed. Is it still made in 120 rollfilm?
Jerren Posted March 28, 2013 Share #12 Posted March 28, 2013 NOOOO, As if shooting the Polaroid 195 isn't stressful enough. We are stuck with only 2 film options, 100c and 3000b now. And those 2 are going to increase again. But hey, like someone said earlier. I'd rather pay the increased price for the 100C and 3000B than not have any film options at all. I just don't want them to go away!
Stealth3kpl Posted March 28, 2013 Share #13 Posted March 28, 2013 At least they are not exiting the business. I'd rather pay increased prices then not to have an option to shoot Fujifilm products. Erm, could be some bad news here Pete
fotohuis Posted March 30, 2013 Share #14 Posted March 30, 2013 Correct, Neopan 400 is discontinued so there also is not need for a new package. Source: Fuji Benelux and Maco Germany.
plasticman Posted March 30, 2013 Share #15 Posted March 30, 2013 Only tried Fuji films once, but my advice is the same as always: just keep shooting with what's left.
