I have just added to my website a small portfolio of pictures taken over the past eight years with my Digilux 2 camera. Here is one from the first batch uploaded.

It is typical of the unplanned photography possible with the D2, because it is always handy in my home. Such shadow play is ephemeral. See it, search for a camera and its gone!

I will be adding more pictures from my many thousands, from time to time.

Aperture priority using Autofocus

I took a few while out sailing the other day and the white hulls, bright grey sky and white sails lead to them all being over-exposed using the aperture priority - it's all learning for me!

Lovely work, everyone. It's wonderful how this thread keeps on spooling along...

Hi Toshack

If you have a lot of light areas, light sails and bright skies, you will get under-exposed photographs.

This is one method I use with the D2 and on my Canon 5D2 with tricky light conditions.

Look through the viewfinder, you will have a live picture that gives you a good idea how the exposure will look like in the final picture.

If it looks to dark (under-exposed), press the EV (Exposure Value) compensation button, and dial in plus +1/3rd increments until it looks brighter .

If it looks to light (over-exposed), press the EV (Exposure Value) compensation button, and dial in minus -1/3rd increments until it looks darker.

See below:-

Hope this helps

Regards

Mike

And, besides correct exposures, you can also try experiments with a D2 ...
