Philip - How did you get that close? Do you have a macro adapter?

 

Edit - Actually this applies to the last three (incredible) posts also. How do you do this? Even if I crop my D2 I don't get macro pictures this sharp. Very impressive!!

Guy (as per his post above) does have an "elpro d"

 

This is Leica's own macro convertor for the D2. Not easy or cheap to source.

 

Thanks for asking. Jock got it nearly right. I used the Panasonic Close-up lens DMW-LC69 whose price is a bit less steep as that of the Elpro. The results are not too shabby, too.

 

However, the flower you refer to is not all that small. According to memory, the bristly part in the middle was some 10 to 15 cm in length, I believe.

I do not do much macro stuff but when I do I just use the macro setting on the lens. Shoot in RAW, process, crop.

Occasionally I use Elpro-D with my LC1 and Digilux 2.

In my last photograph, the caterpillar was very small and measured less than 20 mm.
