I organized many of the ROAR National Championships and hosted the 1991 IFMAR World Championships. I was also the National Administrator for ROAR (Radio Operated Auto Racing. Still have good friends in the industry.

wow a real RC appreciator in the house :)

i'm a lover of offraod RC, especially 8th gas because as an old (injured&retired) motocross racer i can still enjoy 2 strokes & dirt on a sunday but unlike motocross i can still walk & go to work on a monday :)

some more pictures from northern italy, digilux 2. Wonderfull country !

TBL, you presented some fine travel pictures of Italy, while claiming minimal post-processing. If you feel so inclined, you can enhance the results even more with a little pp. I merely used a straight Topaz filter on your first landscape and it is amazing how much hidden detail can be revealed. I hope you don't mind my suggestion, presentation and comment and I hope uploading will not lose that detail.

Thank you, John, that means a lot coming from such a proficient professional.

Pete.

Pete: These images go far beyond "Do Digilux 2 photos have a distinctive look?" And while I've always enjoyed the celebration this thread bestows on the Digilux 2, part of me wants to add "...when held in capable hands."

Someone recently repeated a story of a hostess complimenting a photo and noting to the photographer, "That's some camera you have." Later after dinner, the photographer complimented the hostess on the fine meal she had served, adding... "that must be some stove you have."

These aren't about the Digilux 2... these are about capable hands that happened to be using a Digilux 2. Really well done.

Interesting thought, here I'm going to Berlin later next month and I was trying to decide if I wanted to take my Digilux 2 as a back up for my M9. After seeing your wonderful pictures taken by excelent photographers using the Digilux 2, I decided it makes more sense to restate my question. " Do I want to take my M9 as a back up for my Digilux 2 and what lenses should I take?"

Hank, why bother with the M9 at all? Use your digilux as a primary camera and if you think

you need back up, buy a simple point and shoot for your pocket. Since this thread leaves

me to believe the digilux does everything but take coke bottles back to the 7/11 for a refund,

you shouldn't need any other tool/toy.

On the other hand, leave the digilux and the bag at home to save space and weight and put an X100 in your pocket. Use your feet as a zoom lens and get excellent image quality with minimal equipment.

... but without the distinctive look of the D2.;)

Pete.
