Today in the rain ....... all with 50/0.95 ... most wide open.

Rather misgudedly set white balance to cloudy as it was .... errr..... cloudy..... which was clearly a bad move as all were too yellow and are in fact ok as daylight in LR4.

No I don't spend all my time in graveyards..... just happened to be next to where I parked this morning.....

Jaap,

I really don't understand the CMOS/CCD debate although I'm kind of getting it (and no one out there needs to explain it to me, thanks).

Maybe it's because of the high ISO images I had to take as a result of the time of day I had allotted to get out and use the camera. In other word, I have almost no low ISO shots to compare.

The camera arrival was really a surprise and my schedule is completely full right now during the day. Excuses, excuses...

What I do find, in these high ISO situations, is that I really have to push the contrast to get what I want. The Monochrom and 9P only need a little contrast adjustment to go a long way to get that same result. Again, maybe at base ISO this may not happen.

If someone put a gun to my head today and said, you can only keep one camera, your MM or M. It would be the MM without thinking about it. Maybe it's because it is the only camera I have used for the last 6 months and such little experience in working with color files. Just think it has to do with the lack of Bayer Array, immediate sharpness.

This opinion may change in a week once i become more familiar with the beast. Thanks for listening.

How about the purple fringe issue of the M9 and M9-P, is it also a problem of the new M?

another batch from today ..... snow instead of rain and fog...... all 75/2 at 2 or 2.8

iso ranges from 200-3200.

even at 100% noise looks very film-like..... and a tweak with LR4 noise reduction and then sharpening makes it vanish with almost no trace.....

and if you are wondering why so many .... there have been several moans and complaints about the lack of M images ...... implying that this indicates lack of satisfaction with the camera .......

It was a beautiful spring day in Washington yesterday, and I took the M-240 with Noctilux and ND filter to the zoo. Below are some of the results. I will admit that, after a week of playing with M files, I find them wonderfully malleable, and so these have been initially processed in LR, and then some of them have gone in and out of both Nik Viveza and Color Efex 4. You may or may not like the processing look, but I really wanted to determine what you could do with these files, and I am really liking the results.

I agree...... that is the one thing I have really noticed ...... you can do an enormous amount without degrading the basic underlying quality......
