wparsonsgisnet Posted February 8, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 8, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought the beautiful and inexpensive (NOT) 35 'lux FLE yesterday (partly Bill Wendlandt's fault) and am mightily pleased. My dealer let me know he had it and a couple of 50 FLE's (on Wednesday). Thursday, with a night to think it over (really stupid), I bot the 35. There are 2 50 FLE's available still. Any interest, ping me. Regards to all,
Advertisement Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Hi wparsonsgisnet, Take a look here Bought the 35 FLE. 50 FLE's still available in BOS. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
algrove Posted February 9, 2013 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2013 There is a 35 FLE at The Pro Shop in Palm Beach, FL too.

Guest borge Posted February 9, 2013 Share #4 Posted February 9, 2013 To my knowledge there is no "50 FLE". Are you talking about the "50 ASPH"? (the 50 ASPH has floating elements though... But it is not "FLE" branded).
wattsy Posted February 9, 2013 Share #5 Posted February 9, 2013 Nor is the 35 Summilux "FLE branded".
Guest WPalank Posted February 9, 2013 Share #6 Posted February 9, 2013 Yes, can you please use the term 50 Summilux ASPH or 50 APO Summicron. As I infer that you mean one or the other.
andybarton Posted February 9, 2013 Share #7 Posted February 9, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Don't forget, lens availability is now much better than it used to be. Ask your preferred dealer.
wparsonsgisnet Posted February 10, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted February 10, 2013 Used the new 35 some yesterday -- we have a couple of feet of snow in Boston -- and did enjoy it. It is quite stiff compared to my other asph. I like the smaller hood, too. You know, these guys make nice stuff. Regards to all,
piblondin Posted February 11, 2013 Share #9 Posted February 11, 2013 How about proofreading the subject line before posting?
andybarton Posted February 11, 2013 Share #10 Posted February 11, 2013 There's no need for that, thanks. Typo corrected.
kokoshawnuff Posted February 12, 2013 Share #11 Posted February 12, 2013 It is quite stiff compared to my other asph. I like the smaller hood, too. The 'stiffness' is typical of lenses with floating elements, it does lighten up a bit over time. Either way congrats on the lens.

Regards to all, Like someone said it is new, but also out in the cold with new grease could have made it even stiffer than it otherwise would be. Congrats. You can use that excuse with you wife I guess. Were those 50's the APO version?
wparsonsgisnet Posted February 14, 2013 Author Share #14 Posted February 14, 2013 Bill,Not my fault. I am in Austin, TX and I do not recall holding a weapon to you forcing you to purchase anything. You can use that excuse with you wife I guess. Were those 50's the APO version? Bill (and William Palank), the 50's are not the APO. Didn't realize that FLE also applied to the APO. The 35 I bot (not a typo, but sorry for my shorthand) is the new FLE lens. The 50's I left behind (still satisfied with my 50 'lux asph -- Bill W, do NOT tell me that I would be better off ....) are the 'lux asph but not the APO. (How can I be so confused by the naming convention of the maker of my favorite lenses? I guess it's ok, because they're holding all my money.)
