Advertisement Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Hi Rick, Take a look here Summaron 2,8/35 black w/box. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dpitt Posted February 4, 2013 Share #2 Posted February 4, 2013 :eek:What is it that drives these prices? I thought the M240 hype would not affect collectors items... Any thoughts?
Rick Posted February 4, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted February 4, 2013 I don't get it either. I bought a silver 35mm/2.8 Summaron in box in mint condition about 2 years ago and paid $1,000 and felt a little remorse. Nice lens, though. One of my favorite old lenses. Now I might be afraid to use it.
luigi bertolotti Posted February 4, 2013 Share #4 Posted February 4, 2013 Black Summaron... as they say "rarer than hen's teeth".... ... SO rare (and never officialy available) that a well done DIY job could be worth... but I assume that the buyer has taken the due precautions about... btw... back in 2008 a black goggled version was auctioned at 6600 Euros and more recently, an ungoggled black item (yellow numbers, not red) at > 13000 Euros : http://www.westlicht-auction.com/index.php?id=246526&acat=246526&_ssl=off
sabears Posted February 4, 2013 Share #5 Posted February 4, 2013 I would never have dared to buy this alleged rarity without a copy of the delivery from Leitz...
wizard Posted February 5, 2013 Share #6 Posted February 5, 2013 :eek:What is it that drives these prices?... Collector's, what else. The lens looks genuine to me. It is a late version of that lens, and Leica may well have made it on special order. But even then, I would not pay that kind of money for it. farnz Posted February 10, 2013 Share #10 Posted February 10, 2013 :eek:What is it that drives these prices?... Looking at the bidding history, two bidders drove the price up although neither eventually won it because it was sniped in the final second of the auction. Pete.
