Summaron 2,8/35 black w/box

I don't get it either. I bought a silver 35mm/2.8 Summaron in box in mint condition about 2 years ago and paid $1,000 and felt a little remorse. Nice lens, though. One of my favorite old lenses. Now I might be afraid to use it. :eek:

Black Summaron... as they say "rarer than hen's teeth".... :eek:... SO rare (and never officialy available) that a well done DIY job could be worth... but I assume that the buyer has taken the due precautions about...

 

btw... back in 2008 a black goggled version was auctioned at 6600 Euros and more recently, an ungoggled black item (yellow numbers, not red) at > 13000 Euros : http://www.westlicht-auction.com/index.php?id=246526&acat=246526&_ssl=off

Collector's, what else. The lens looks genuine to me. It is a late version of that lens, and Leica may well have made it on special order. But even then, I would not pay that kind of money for it.
