erl Posted January 31, 2013 Share #21 Posted January 31, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I found some Reala in the freezer last week, so I am using that up now - I don't like C41, so it won't take long to get rid of. I would only consider using E6 going forwards, but at those prices, it becomes pretty expensive. You're looking at getting on for 40p per shot, processed. Andy, I thought you were buying a JOBO processor, I am I confusing you with someone else? That does make processing much cheaper and more efficient, regardless of which film medium you use. Quality control is also directly under your 'spell'.
Advertisement Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Hi erl, Take a look here Ilford is back. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted January 31, 2013 Share #22 Posted January 31, 2013 I do have a Jobo, but I don't shoot enough E6 to use up the chemistry before it goes off. I should sell it.

Andy, my film volumes have dropped from what they were, but my current technique is to measure carefully enough chems to process the exact number of films. I have a quantity of quite small bottles (old E6 & C41 bottles and I fill them to the brim. By selecting one for processing I am not opening the others and they keep for an exceptionally long time. Worth an experiment.
Stealth3kpl Posted January 31, 2013 Share #24 Posted January 31, 2013 Normally I'd cheer this but Matthew usually does a good job running a niche business in a difficult ecconomic climate and paying taxes to HMRC. I've never had a problem with him.7 Day shop have lots of other interests to fall back on to survive, not that HMRC will gain any benefit (?). Pete Someone on another forum has suggested this tax loophole has been closed. Can anyone here confirm this? Pete
andybarton Posted January 31, 2013 Share #25 Posted January 31, 2013 I think it has, which is why Play.com are getting out of retail. They have to charge VAT now, IIRC. They still won't pay UK taxes though, because they're not in the UK.
