coz Posted December 27, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted December 27, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm getting a Monochrom tomorrow and I need to buy a lens today. I have used a 50 Summilux in the past and love it but I was just offered a new 35mm Lux FLE. I am very tempted to try that instead. Can anyone comment on the bokeh between the two? Is it about the same? thanks
Advertisement Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Hi coz, Take a look here 35/50 Summilux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bpalme Posted December 27, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted December 27, 2012 They have a very similar signature. I would make my decision more about which focal length you prefer. For me it's the 50.
hoppyman Posted December 27, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted December 27, 2012 Coz, bo-ke is really not a fixed value. Its appearance if influenced by quite a number of factors when you shoot. However you could say that both of these lenses perform in a similar manner in that regard if you like. My recommendation is to consider which focal length best suits you as a first lens and perhaps availability and budget too Here's one example from each which I think illustrate that they are perfectly capable of smooth "glow" often attributed to the older less well corrected designs. Stealth3kpl Posted December 27, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted December 27, 2012 Can anyone comment on the bokeh between the two? Is it about the same? thanks I posted some 35FLE bokeh shots here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m-lenses/260845-not-another-35-2asph-35-1-a.html#post2245852 Â I've not run a test film through using the 50 lux asph yet (despite having it longer than the 35lux) but there are plenty of samples in the net. Bill W Posted December 28, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted December 28, 2012 I have both but if I were gong with just one of them, it would be the 35 FLE simply because if is a little wider. Just me though.
