Advertisement Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Hi stunsworth, Take a look here Saucisson sec, France. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elansprint72 Posted June 24, 2006 Share #2 Posted June 24, 2006 Superb- I can almost smell it! You ought to go to Bury market and shoot similar stuff, seing as you are named after a suburb of that town. ;-) Cheers, Pete.
stunsworth Posted June 24, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted June 24, 2006 Thanks Pete, you know I've never been to Unsworth even though it's only a few miles from where I live. Bury market is an idea though, I might pop over one Saturday soon. I love black puddings!
abuhind Posted June 24, 2006 Share #4 Posted June 24, 2006 Hey steve, you fit a 50mm summicron on a Canon 5D. How? By the way it's a lovely photograph.
Michael-IIIf Posted June 24, 2006 Share #5 Posted June 24, 2006 Yum yum. Gosh that lens is *sharp*.
stunsworth Posted June 24, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted June 24, 2006 Michael, I've included a portion of the image at 100% without sharpening to let you see the true level of detail recorded - personally I'm continuously impressed with this lens! Remember this was shot at ISO 800! In answer to the other question I use an adaptor that allows Leica R lenses to be used on Canon EOS bodies. There are some compromises in that you have to use stop down metering, and not all Leica lenses with work with the 5D - this is mainly a problem with the wide angle lenses and doesn't affect the other Canon digital cameras. stunsworth Posted June 25, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted June 25, 2006 William I'd love to retire to France. The more I travel in South-West France in particular, the more I think it would be an ideal area to live - provided there weren't too many Brits ;-) - sea, mountains good food and drink it would be perfect. But the way pensions are behaving in the UK I'll probably be lucky to get there once a year ;-)

robert_parker Posted January 21, 2007 Share #11 Posted January 21, 2007 Very nice ... the 50mm is very under-used, if not exactly under-rated lens (as I suspect, is the 21-35) really like the colour and composition of Steve's shot and I would love to see if Peter's would crop down to the figures on the left
elansprint72 Posted January 21, 2007 Share #12 Posted January 21, 2007 Nice to see this tasty thread coming back for a second helping! The Famous Five may recognise this lady from the Manchester meet; or should that be Manchester meat? Pete.
stunsworth Posted January 21, 2007 Author Share #13 Posted January 21, 2007 That's the French for you, so sophisticated they even wear white gloves when they're playing with your sausage.
stuny Posted January 21, 2007 Share #14 Posted January 21, 2007 Steve - Sorry I missed this one the first time around. I know what you mean about French food markets and agree. Your shot is far better than any I've done of them.
stunsworth Posted January 21, 2007 Author Share #15 Posted January 21, 2007 Stuart, I was surprised myself to see this one reappear after so long. Perhaps now I have an M8 I should start whinging about how plastic the 5D shots look :-). Only kidding, I still think it's a great camera.
ECliffordSmith Posted January 22, 2007 Share #16 Posted January 22, 2007 Steve, Very nice. You should try the Sunday market in Lille if you have never done so. The food there is out of this world. The detail the lens picks up is quite remarkable by the way.
