jaapv Posted December 1, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted December 1, 2012 I thought consensus was that digital ones were made for status, which, by definition, is more short-lived. It seems perception is shifting.

earleygallery Posted December 1, 2012 Share #5 Posted December 1, 2012 Was that the sale price??!! I saw a new one on a dealers website recently for about £3k - think I'll snap it up and stick it in the next auction!!
iedei Posted December 2, 2012 Share #6 Posted December 2, 2012 certain digital Leicas WILL for sure be collectable.....already some of the most expensive Leicas are digital (Titanium, Hermes, etc.) and i'm sure there will be others. Leica special editions have always been for "show".....from the early days til now! the white M8.2 is strange though.....looks like it belongs in a purse of a woman in a big black fur coat getting out of the backseat of a Maybach. gyoung Posted December 2, 2012 Share #7 Posted December 2, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) And of course if its a 'collectors item' as surely the white M8 was designed to be, it doesn't matter a toss whether it works or not since it will spend its time in a show case unsullied by human hands, perhaps such as this will be the ONLY digital cameras which hold any value long term. farnz Posted December 2, 2012 Share #8 Posted December 2, 2012 I suspect that the M9Ti will retain collectable value too but perhaps in a little while. Pete.
