Thanks, that was the link I had found, so nothing has changed.

I am very much tempted to show up, as it sounds interesting especially the factory tour.

Seeing as how it is still 5 months to the event, the "rules" for this year have yet to be published. We have yet to decide on a rendezvous point.

Rules for most of the previous meetings will be available if you look for them, but the basic rules are the same every year.

Copenhagen: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/forum-member-meetings/210578-copenhagen-final-call.html

Palermo: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/forum-member-meetings/197961-palermo-one-challenge-arrangements-rules.html

Venice: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/forum-member-meetings/142844-venice-meeting-arrangements-etc.html

Malta: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/forum-member-meetings/99883-malta-challenge-17-october-2009-terms.html

And others before this

Tanks, notwithstanding all the rules, attendees are generally pretty unruly most of the time. :D

There are pictures to support the allegation, from most cameras attending.

Looking forward to it already! I have reserved flight & car rental; ETA Frankfurt 11/10 at 10:35; ETD 13/10 at 16:40. I am booked at the Mercure. I guess that might make me a bit late for 'apéritif' but in time for lunch. I'm sure somebody will propose a watering place...Unfortunately, contrary to what I expected, I'll be on my own: wife 's flying out that same day.

We have the following week over there too. Really looking forward to it.

Same here on both counts.

If anyone staying at the Mercure wants the details of my Accor loyalty card, I'll be only to pleased to supply the details and pick up the points <grin>.

I'm an extremely loyal person, since I have loyalty cards from all major hotel chains. :)

Since the expedition party in the Landrover should be reaching the continent soon, it could be good timing to mention, that driving on the right side will avoid confusion over here. :)

In a Defender you can drive on whichever side takes your fancy. I remember seeing a sticker on the back of an old Series II once that read "You can go fast, but I can go anywhere..." :D

Bill

They're probably still submerged at the moment but should surface at a slipway in Ostend shortly.....:D

Take the proverbial if you want, but we arrived into Amsterdam right on schedule and am happy to report that nothing amiss was found on the Defender during it's service. Unfortunately, I didn't make the flight back for the Shard and Bristol meets but will be raring to go once we get to Wetzler.

Safe travels to all.

Is a Defender still allowed in German cities? One does need to have a green label nowadays. No black smoke, no small sooth particles etc. and all that... One can always take a taxi I guess..:D

Driving 17 hours a day in a Defender is stressful and so we decided to leave the Land Rover in a Car Park opposite Utrecht Railway Station and join the family holiday in Florida, from where I write this update. We put 24 kilos worth of one Euro coins in the parking meter thinking it would cover the 17 days we are going to be away, but it only gave us a ticket valid to midnight. Me thinks we could have problems when we return to resume our journey into Germany, but such is life for the long distance adventurer.

Looking forward to seeing (hopefully) everyone in Wetzler.

Cheers, Tom

Utrecht just passed some new community rules, 'smokers' are no longer allowed within community borders, particularly old diesels are banned.
